Over 50 years of care, connection, and commitment
Our story began in 1964, when Dr. Lawrence Nelson returned home after medical school and opened a small family practice on Hamner Avenue. His mission was simple: to care for his neighbors with warmth, honesty, and expert medical support. That mission took root and grew. Over time, the practice expanded, eventually passing to his son, Dr. Robert Nelson, and evolving into what is now Citrus Valley Medical Associates.
Although we’ve grown to include multiple offices and a dedicated team of doctors and caregivers, our values remain unchanged. We’re here to help you live a long, healthy life, because we’re not just part of this community. We’re part of your story.

Meet our Patient Liaison, Cathy Gawrych. With over 40 years of experience in healthcare, Cathy brings a wealth of knowledge, compassion, and leadership to her role as Patient Liaison. She has dedicated her career to improving patient experiences and ensuring families feel supported, understood, and guided throughout their healthcare journey.

Your Transition of Care Coordinator
Lauren partners closely with patients, their families (as defined by the patient), and staff across all departments to ensure smooth transitions of care. She coordinates services during important moments such as ER discharges, hospital discharges, palliative care, hospice, and home health. Her role is to help create a seamless experience so patients feel supported and connected every step of the way.

Leticia is dedicated to helping patients confidently navigate the healthcare system. She supports patients and families by coordinating care, clearly explaining treatment options, and assisting with insurance or billing questions. With compassion and attention to detail, Leticia ensures that each patient’s needs and preferences are respected. Acting as a trusted bridge between patients, families, and healthcare providers, she works to make the care experience smoother, clearer, and more supportive.
