1. How do I become a patient of Citrus Valley Medical?

HMO Insured:

To become a member of our group, all you need to do is call your HMO and change your PCP to any one of our physicians. Click here to see a list of our physicians. That’s it!

We accept most major HMO carriers. Click here to see our list of accepted insurance carriers.

The insurance card you receive may list the group as PrimeCare of Citrus Valley. This is normal. PrimeCare of Citrus Valley is the IPA that contracts with our physicians.

PPO/EPO Insured:

We accept many PPO and EPO carriers. Click here to see a list of accepted PPO insurance carriers. If you do not see your PPO carrier on this list we may still accept it. Please call our billing department at 951-738-1417 to find out if your carrier is accepted by our group.

For PPO patients, all you need to do is call and make an appointment and bring your current insurance card with you to the appointment. It’s that easy.

Medicare Insured:

Patients with straight Medicare can see our medical providers. No PCP needs to be chosen. Just make an appointment with one of physicians and come on in.


We currently do not accept Medi-Cal. However, we do accept IEHP Direct. If you currently have Medi-Cal, you may qualify for IEHP. We highly recommend IEHP for Medi-Cal patients because of the greater benefits and greater access to physicians.

2. What do I do if I need to be seen today?

We keep same-day-appointment slots clear on all of our providers’ schedules for the patients that need to be seen today.  You should call early to obtain one of these appointments as they tend to get booked quickly.  You may not be able to see your normal doctor in this case, but we should be able to get you in.  You can also walk-in at one of our two urgent care locations.
